Obituary

James Hudrick (aka Jim), age 65, of Ste. Anne, MB., passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Diane, son Jamie (Brittany), daughter Krystle (Rob) and his two grandchildren Peyton and Kane.

Jim was known for his hands that could braid hair and fix anything, his feet that weren’t made for walking and his heart of gold. He would help anyone – no job too big or too small. He spread his kindness not only to his family and friends but to strangers as well – who he’d love to chat up on the spot and barter with.

His many years in construction and the towing business helped him develop a legendary presence in the community as the man who could fix or help with anything.

He loved driving around all the back roads with his family and friends looking for anything to buy, fix or scrap. He taught his kids (and sometimes their friends) if they could break it he could show them how to fix it. He proved multiple times that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure.

You could always find Jim tinkering in his shop on a new project or two. From demo car builds, field cars (for us to learn how to drive) and couch lifts in his younger years to birdhouses, pumpkin carving and power wheel overhauls in his grandpa years the shop was always buzzing with fun and excitement.

His joy came from spoiling his family not only with his presence and Dollarama trips but also with the knowledge he taught them while spending time with them. No outing was ever complete without a fuze raspberry tea or a strawberry milkshake.

Although his grandkids did not have enough years with him the time they spent together fishing and driving the golf kart around will be forever memories they can hold dear to their hearts.

You will forever be missed and remembered Jim.
Rest easy.

A big thank you to the Ste. Anne Hospital nurses and paramedics for your efforts and compassion.

To honour Jim’s request no funeral service will be held.
