Obituary

Unexpectedly, yet peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, Roger Franz Trikojat age 61 passed away at the Health Sciences Centre.

Roger was predeceased by his father, and stepfather, his life companion Dana Boone as well as his dog Raven.

Left to cherish his many memories is his mother Anita Korpas; his three stepchildren Tanya, Ryan, and Danielle; as well as close friends he made over the years.

Roger graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. Prior to moving to Manitoba he was employed with Chrysler Canada, as a Chemist, and was responsible for developing the paint colours of the vehicles on the production line. He spent six years in Tennessee working with CIL paint company developing the paint colours for the Saturn automotive group.

Roger had a love for fishing, hunting, nature and spent many hours at the family cottage in Muskoka, Ontario. His love for animals was evident as he had a variety of tropical and local pets in his home. He also spent some time working for a local pet store when he was a student. Often treating the animals to a weekend vacation at his home.

Roger and his life partner Dana had plans to move from Ontario to Golden, British Colombia, but as fate would have it, his van broke down in Steinbach and this is where they set down roots, making their home in the southeastern part of Manitoba.

Here in Manitoba Roger worked for Steve’s Livestock as a dispatcher, and later moved to Loewen Windows working on the production line and later as quality control. Roger was still employed at Loewen’s at the time of his passing.

Roger made life interesting and will truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

According to Roger’s wishes, cremation will take place. No formal services will be held.

His family extends a special thank you to the community of Piney and the neighbours for looking out for Roger, Corporal Gabriel Bunn from the Sprague RCMP for his compassion, ss well as the staff at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, and Health Sciences Centre, Medi-ICU and Extensive Care Team for their care and compassion during his brief stay.
