Obituary

In loving memory of Peter Ginter Funk who passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the De Salaberry District Health Centre in St Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba, at the age of 88 years.

Peter was born on May 12, 1936, in Steinbach, Manitoba. He became a Ranch Hand and worked on various ranches throughout Alberta and Manitoba. He was always respected and had an unmatched work ethic. Peter had four children with his first wife, Geraldine Newton. Kevin Funk, his oldest son who has a daughter and 2 grandchildren, Cheryl (Banman) his oldest daughter who has 5 children and 18 grandchildren, Diane Funk, his youngest daughter who has 4 children and 8 grandchildren, and Marvin Funk his youngest son.

Peter was a man of few words and yet a romantic. He was a dedicated businessman who created his own company. Peter Funk Doors was a well-run and respected overhead door company. Peter spent his retirement with companion, Roxanne Trumbley. They both enjoyed camping, travelling and visiting with family. While retired Peter’s passion was woodworking which included a variety of fun toys for his grandchildren along with welcome signs for the home which he shared with his children.

According to Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on August 10, 2024, at Crossing Funeral Care in Steinbach, Manitoba.
