It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Dianna White at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on Thursday, August 29, 2024, with her best friend Allan by her side. Her departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Dianna is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Allan; her sons, Jonathan (Brandi) White and Ian (Taneil) White; and her precious grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. She will also be deeply missed by her sister, Judi (Doug) Lay; her brother, Steve (Trudy) Martens; her sister-in-law, Fran Martens; and her many cherished nieces and nephews.
Dianna was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Edna Martens; her brother, Ron Martens and nephew Ryan Martens.
Dianna met the love of her life, Allan, while attending Bible College. Their shared faith and unwavering love for each other blossomed into a beautiful marriage in 1968. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, from camping and exploring the great outdoors to raising their beloved sons. In 1983, they welcomed Jonathan into their lives, and just 17 months later, Ian completed their family in 1984. Their home was always filled with laughter, love, and boundless joy.
A dedicated member of the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in Steinbach, Dianna’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found great fulfillment in serving others and was a passionate volunteer for many community causes. Dianna’s commitment to her faith was evident in her daily prayers for her family and her unwavering trust in God’s plan.
Dianna’s career was marked by her tireless dedication and compassion. As the Executive Director of Steinbach 55 Plus, she played an instrumental role in establishing a community center for senior citizens, creating a haven of connection and care for so many. She also made meaningful contributions during her time at Manitoba Hydro, leaving a lasting legacy in her professional life.
Upon retiring, Dianna cherished the simple pleasures of life – spending time at the cottage with Allan, her soulmate and best friend, doting on her grandchildren, traveling, and cheering for her favourite hockey teams. Her kindness, strength, and steadfast spirit were a motivating force to all who knew her. Through love and faith, she encouraged, supported, and uplifted everyone around her.
While our hearts ache with the loss of Dianna, we find solace in knowing she is now in the loving arms of the Lord. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the power of faith, love, and kindness.
“… but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” ~ Isaiah 40:31
