Obituary

Rita Florence Reimer passed away in the evening on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

She is survived by her husband Cornie Reimer, children Mikayla (Kahlan, and daughter Astrid), Samuel, and Alex.

Rita was born to Clarence and Linda Plett on September 12, 1970.

She battled cancer for five years before reuniting with the Lord in Heaven.

She attended Bible school in Saskatchewan where she met her loving husband Cornie. They got married in 1993 and lived in a little house in Blumenort. Rita and her husband became youth leaders at Blumenort Church where they had the opportunity to help and encourage young minds. It was also there that Rita became known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies, which she continued to make and share with others throughout her life.

When she was 29, Rita and her husband adopted their first child. A few years later they received their miracle baby, and then another miracle baby not long after. Rita dedicated her time and heart to her children and anyone else’s children who were welcomed into her home. She later became a preschool teacher at the Blumenort Christian preschool where she touched the lives of many more and had a special bond with one very special boy. Not long after she found her calling her battle with cancer started. She continued to be a part of preschool, kids club, and many other children’s activities in the community as long as she was able, and continued her hobby of making cards and little notebooks until she couldn’t. Throughout all of the ups and downs, her husband Cornie never left her side, loving and caring for her until the end. Her best friend Priscilla helped Rita and her family with her love and friendship never wavering.

The come & go viewing will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Blumenort Community Church, Blumenort, MB.

The interment will take place at Blumenort Community Church Cemetery, Blumenort, MB.
