Obituary

The obituary of Susan Braun Dueck (nee Wiebe), of Steinbach, MB., formerly of Grunthal, MB. Mom was born on May 1, 1924, to Jacob H. & Helena Wiebe, she reached the age of 100 years, seven months and 13 days. She passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

She was born in Barkfield, where she grew up and lived until she moved to Steinbach in 1986.

Susan is survived by her children Menno (Anne) Braun, Johanna (Richard) Klassen, Dennis (Betty) Braun, Edna (Richard) Patenaude and Dianne Orchyk and their families. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 29 spouses, four great-great-grandchildren, as well as her step-children Edna Russell, Betty (Dennis) Braun, Andy (Gwen) Dueck, Doreen (Ricky) Penner and seven step-grandchildren.

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother had a total of 136 off spring.

She was predeceased by her first husband Jacob Braun, second husband Peter Dueck, son Henry (daughter-in-law Margaret) Braun, son-in-law Darren Orchyk and one great-grandson.

Mom loved it when her children and grandchildren came to visit, she could never have too much company. Our mother was fairly healthy most of her life. She landed up in the hospital on November 24, 2024, until her passing and passed away in her sleep as she had always wished.

The livestreamed funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing one hour prior to the service.

The interment will take place at Grunthal Cemetery, Grunthal, MB.

We want to thank the staff at Cedarwood assisted living for the care they gave mom for the last two years. Also the staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre and Birchwood Funeral Chapel for their service.
