Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bob Friesen, who passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, Manitoba.

Bob was born on July 9, 1953, in Blumenhof, Manitoba, to Ben P. & Helen Friesen. He was the ninth of sixteen children and grew up on the family dairy farm, where he developed a deep love for farming.

Bob met the love of his life, Patricia Anne Marie Beaulieu, and they married on September 27, 1980. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised five children: Lynette, Bobbie-Sue, Tricia, Matthew, and Daniel. Their farm, known as Bob Pat Holstein, was a testament to their hard work and dedication.

A devoted farmer, Bob took great pride in his land and livestock. After selling his dairy quota in 2003, he transitioned to beef farming before retiring. In his later years, he and Pat settled on their son Matt’s acreage, where they enjoyed the peaceful countryside and the company of family.

Bob was a man of faith, and in the spring of 2024, he made the heartfelt decision to be baptized alongside several of his brothers. His faith and family were the pillars of his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; their five children; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nine siblings.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and several siblings.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Blumenort Community Church Cemetery.
