It is with great sadness that the family of Kim Marlene Millar announce her sudden passing on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the age of 70. She went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, David, along with their children and grandchildren; Joseph (Carolyn – Melissa (Jonathan), David, Joshua, Andrew), Tammy (Logan), Jeremy (Liana – Samantha (John), Nicolas), John (Carrie – Matthew, Anna, Caleb), Michael (Janice – Rylan, Grayson, Emersyn), Sarah (Russ – Monty, Riley, Ben, AJ, Kimberly, Austin, Tyler, Tiffany, Emily) and her great-granddaughter Raylin.
She was predeceased by her parents Doreen and Gordon Coates and her daughter Rebecca.
Kim was born July 27, 1954, and grew up in St. Catherine’s, Ontario. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour in her teen years and followed the Lord in baptism shortly after. David and Kim met on a blind date and were married on August 25, 1973, and moved to Guelph for two years after their wedding before moving to Dryden. They spent many years in Dryden before moving to Pickle Lake and later to Steinbach.
Kim enjoyed being a grandma and spent time both playing and teaching her grandchildren. She loved crafting, particularly making cards under “forget-me-not expressions” which she used as a ministry to family members and to strangers in personal care homes. Kim enjoyed music and singing, with a particular love of singing about her Saviour in church. She spent many hours preserving and canning for her family from the gardens planted and tended to by David. Kim was a great Sunday School teacher with a gift for storytelling, which she enhanced with the use of ventriloquism on occasion. She will be greatly missed.
The livestreamed celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing beginning at 4:30 p.m.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
