Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Roy Donald Kornelsen at the age of 88 on March 14, 2025.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Elma, with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage on September 6, 2024, and son Ken (Iris). He also leaves behind his brother Henry (Paulette), his sisters Mary, Jeannie (Clifford Elke), Betty Anne and Carolina (Ed Huculak) along with nephews, nieces, many relatives and friends.

Roy was predeceased by his parents: Werner and Agnes Kornelsen and two sisters: Connie Kornelsen and Shirley Kornelsen.

The family acknowledges those who looked after Dad, especially the wonderful staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, where dad was at least 8 months and then the staff at Vista Park Lodge for his remaining time.

The funeral will take place at 2:00 pm on March 21, 2025 at the Rosenort Fellowship Chapel, 65 Frontage Rd, Rosenort, MB with viewing at the chapel prior to the service, with Pastor Len Harms officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. Internment will take place after the service at Rosenort Evangelical Mennonite Cemetery.
