Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lorna Bernice Devlin (nee Wieler) on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the age of 68. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on January 18, 1957, in Beausejour, Manitoba, Lorna was known for her strength, sense of humour, and generous heart. She was outgoing, friendly, and never one to complain – even in the toughest moments. Her positive spirit and warm presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Lorna was formerly married to Ken Friesen, with whom she had two children, Shaun and Adrienne. Over the years, she lived in various communities across Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia, eventually settling in Alberta until her health declined and she returned to Manitoba to be close to family.

She had strong work ethic and took pride in everything she did. In her later years, she was the successful owner / operator of CK Piloting – escorting oversize vehicles – work she truly loved and enjoyed.

Lorna loved fishing, being outdoors, cooking, baking, traveling, and trying new foods. She embraced life’s simple pleasures and made everyone feel at home in her presence.

She is survived by her children: Shaun Friesen (Linsay) & their daughters Taylor & Sydney; Adrienne Friesen & her son Eli. She is also survived by her mother Anna Wieler and siblings: Gerald (Beverly), Ron, Ken, Vivian (George) & Pam (Todd).

She was predeceased by her husband Harry Devlin, and her father Corneleous Wieler.

Lorna will be remembered for her strength, humour, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A private family service has been planned.
