Obituary

We are sad to announce that on Sunday, August 19, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer, Welden Plett passed away in his own home, on the family farm he grew up on.

He will forever be missed by his beloved wife Angela, their five children: Nicole Reimer & husband Jonathan, their children: Joshua & Natalie; Jeremy & wife Michelle; Adam & wife Taylor; Benjamin and Joseph. Welden also leaves behind his parents Menno and Jessie Plett as well as his brother, two sisters and their families.

Welden was a dedicated dairy farmer. He deeply enjoyed working together with his father and later his sons at Sunnyglade Farms. He was also very passionate about hockey, playing from a very young age and later going on to coach several different teams. He was a steadfast member of Ridgewood EMC, serving the church in many different ways over the years. His faith in God was the foundation he built his life on.

Welden will always be remembered for his outgoing personality. He was very involved in the community and made many friends wherever he went.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Blumenort Evangelical Mennonite Church, Blumenort, MB, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. The burial will take place at the Ridgewood EMC Cemetery, Ridgewood, MB.

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Welden may be made to Longbow Lake Bible Camp, Box 18 RR#1 Grp 3, Steinbach MB, R5G 1L9.
