Peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, September 1, 2018, our husband and father, Tony, passed away at Health Science Center at the age of 81 years.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Eva, and his two daughters Michelle Unger and Jodi Unger, and son-in-law Mike Unger. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sister Mathilda Wohlgemuth and brother Bill Unger, his godson Braydyn Patick and his goddaughter Brooklyn Langlois, together with numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Tony was predeceased by his parents Abram and Katherine Unger, along with two older brothers, Abe and Otto, and three older sisters, Lizzie, Pauline and Nettie.
Tony was a kind, generous and loving husband, father, brother and friend. He worked for Diamond Ready MIx Concrete, K + H concrete and Northland concrete until his retirement in 2001. Tony always had time for family and friends and always placed his family time above all else. He loved spending time at the lake, both Falcon and in later years, at Betula. He loved to travel, read, watching any sporting event and entertaining family and friends.
His pallbearers will be close friends and family members.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Steinbach Mennonite Church, 345 Loewen Blvd, Steinbach, MB, with the viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m.
