Obituary

Eva Peters, age 92, of Steinbach, MB, formerly of Grunthal, MB, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at De Salaberry District Health Centre, St. Pierre, MB.

She is survived by her two sons: John & Joyce Peters (Sean & Jocelyn, Jan & Kevin Schmon); great-grandchildren: Tyler, Brady, Nevaeh, Maverick and Eden; and Jack Peters; daughter-in-law: Ann (Conrad & Jaime, Dallas & Thersa); great-grandchildren: Kennedy, Dalaney, Zachary and Tatyana; daughter-in-law Ida (Carol & Jason Jorgenson, Tammy & Marc Zynoberg, Sharlene); great-grandchildren: Maya, Nathan and Rory.

She was predeceased by her husband Jacob; two sons: Frank (Ann) and Abe (Ida); one daughter Shirley; three brothers and three sisters.

Eva was born on April 24, 1925, the youngest of seven children.

Eva met her husband Jacob and married in 1947, in the Winkler area. They had some difficulties in the beginning of their marriage but persevered through it all.

Mom cherished her time with family. She loved having the family together and she was always busy preparing meals for whoever would show up. She loved gardening and the family benefited from the fruits and vegetables that she grew. Mom was a wonderful homemaker. When they moved to the Winkler area they bought two lots, one was just for the garden. One of the things we remember about Mom was when she said No, she would say “don’t arg with me”. Her word had the final say.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, MB. The burial will follow at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Cemetery, New Bothwell, MB.
