Obituary

Getruda Doerksen, 91, of Vita, MB., passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 1:15 a.m., at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. She was in the hospital for about five days.

She is survived by her husband Isaak, one son Gerhard & his wife Nettie, seven grandchildren (four are married), and ten great-grandchildren (one is married).

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, one sister, one daughter Dora, and one daughter-in-law Susana.

Getruda was bon September 20, 1929, in Chaco, Paraguay. She was baptized on May 16, 1948 and married Isaak on August 21, 1949. They were married for 71 years and 55 days. They had two children: their daughter Dora passed away in infancy and one son Gerhard.

They moved from Paraguay to Bolivia in 1965, and moved to Canada in 1980.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., at the Reinland Mennonite Church, Grunthal, MB., with interment at the church cemetery.

All are welcome to attend. Masks will be required.
