Obituary

It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved sister, aunty, godmother, great aunty, great-great aunt and friend Charlene Janice Petrash on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, as a result of an unexpected serious illness.

Charlene will be deeply missed: by her sisters: Marge Weevers (Mike), Debbie Palichuk (Bert), Tanya Edgar (Derek); her brothers: Randy Petrash, Peter Petrash (Florence), Nelson Petrash (Diana-Lynn); Godchildren: Timothy Palichuk, Tyrell Palichuk. Nieces and nephews: Dale Weevers (Cynthia), Kyle Weevers (Pam), David Weevers; Brent Palichuk (Jennifer), Christopher Palichuk, Andrew Palichuk (Jaclyn Bodhum), Cole Palichuk, Don Edgar, Grant Edgar (Jannalee), Daniel Edgar (Jennifer Goudie), Jason Edbom (Cheryl), Adam Petrash (Sarah), Amber Bright (Trevor) Great nephews and nieces: Josh, Mathew and Adam Weevers; Brandon and Rylynn Palichuk, Satara, Ethan (Emma), Nate, and Quinn Palichuk, Emma, Liam and Brett Palichuk; Paige Edgar; Blake Edgar; Hauk and Crystal Edbom; Declan, Zeph and Sophea Petrash. Great-great niece Sophia Palichuk.

Charlene was predeceased by her parents Matt and Sonia (nee Dawydiuk) Petrash and her nephew Ryan Weevers.

Charlene was outgoing and loved socializing and travelling. She was an optimist; Char always saw the bright side of things. A gifted fundraiser, Char excelled in her work, as well as in her roles as a sister, godmother, aunt and friend with love, humour, and generosity. Colleagues and acquaintances quickly became friends.

Gone too soon, yet we can cherish our special memories of the precious time we had with Char. This resilient beautiful woman with the generous soul, infectious smile and quirky sense of humour will be sorely missed. However, the positive impact she had on all who knew her will live on.

A private graveside service will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ascension of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery in Sundown, MB.

Current Covid-19 Public Health Orders will be followed (masks and social distancing).

Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Charlene may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
