Obituary

It is with profound sadness and an abundance of love that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, uncle and friend Joseph Edmond Kaminski. Joseph passed away peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the age of 56, with his family surrounding him.

Left to mourn is his loving wife of 35 years, Corina; his three daughters, Lindsey, Melissa, Ashley (Matt); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bethany, Rebeccah, Issaiah, Kristen and Ryker; his loving parents, Walter and Marie Rita; siblings, Mike (Edith), Gary (Carol), Wayne (Nichole), Deborah, Kimberley (Robert); and nieces and nephews. Joseph was also a loving foster dad to Mackenzie and Taylor. He will also be missed by extended family and many dear friends. Joseph was predeceased by his grandparents Oril & Gertie St. Laurent, and Stan & Pauline Kaminski.

Joseph was born on September 5, 1965 in Winnipeg, MB. He met the love of his life Corina in 1982, and they were married on December 6, 1986. They deeply loved one another, Corina was Joseph’s Cinderella and he was her Prince Charming. They had planned to retire and spend their time in rocking chairs while watching the sun rise and set in Caliento, MB.

Joseph loved hunting, fishing, camping, quadding and spending time outdoors. He was a Mechanical Contractor and spent the last twenty years proudly working at his trade and developing his own business. He was very dedicated to his work.

Joseph raised his family in St. Anne, MB. His three daughters were everything to him. Joseph would give all that he could to them. He wanted the best lives for them. Joseph was always a very involved dad. He loved being a dad so much, he would sacrifice anything to help his girls. Joseph became a grandpa when he was forty and this was an exciting new experience for him. He made many memories with all of them.

Joseph was a family man. He really loved and cared for his family and always wanted to be there to make their lives easier. Family was of highest importance to him. He had a heart of gold and his desire was that everyone knew about Jesus. Joseph’s relationship with Jesus really flourished over the last year. He became so close with Him and always loved to talk about Jesus and making sure everyone knew Him so they could be in Heaven one day, too. Joseph spent his last few weeks listening to worship music, praying for anyone he could and spending time talking to loved ones.

Joseph, we are going to miss your sense of humor, always cracking a joke, a silly face or witty comments. But most of all we will miss the presence that you brought into any room you walked into, your wisdom, guidance and your selflessness. Dad, you were our rock and you are going to be missed more than words can describe. We all love you and we know you are at peace. Love you always and forever.

Thank you to the staff in the Medical ICU Ward at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB, for the exceptional care and genuine respect for which we extend our heartfelt appreciation.

The livestreamed funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2PM in the Chapel at Crossings Funeral Care, 12E-40 North Gate Drive, Steinbach, MB. Viewing will take place one hour, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family.
