He was predeceased by his parents and his son Damien Catellier (July 1979- July 1979)
Marcien was born and raised on the paternal homestead. He was the third generation to farm the land with his brothers. Today, it’s in the capable hands of the fourth generation of Catellier farmers. He also worked for 20 years at Versatile Manufacturing as a welder and forklift operator. Marcien also, drove big rigs. Hauling down to Western coastal Canada, USA and locally, he loved seeing the country from behind the wheel of a semi. And finally, for the last 20 years, he’s worked with his Nelson River Construction family, whom he loved.
Marcien was passionate of the things he loved. From the very first snowmobile purchases by his father when he was a boy, to the one he has now, and every other one in between. Hunting was another passion. One based in tradition, and respect. This passion and tradition, also passed down to his children. The mechanism of the handheld marvel kept his attention and then, Harley Davidson came into his life, and the love affair with the open road began. Multiple destinations including, Mexico and Sturgis, followed countless miles with the love of his life Émilie, and close friends, created many great memories. He enjoyed helping others and would chat for hours describing what he loved. Heavy equipment, snowmobiles, hunting, motorcycles, and family.
Marcien also took pleasure in every second spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He spoke of them with great pride. He instilled all of his knowledge and his work ethics in each and every one of us by doing, teaching and guiding. For us, this is his legacy.
Marcien, know that you are loved, forever in our hearts and we will never forget you. Rest well. We will see you soon.
Avec Amour,
Émilie, Raymonde, Jules, Mario et famille
We would also like to express our gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and all supporting staff of Steinbach Bethesda Hospital and St Pierre Hospital, for the great care and consideration afforded to us all as a family unit. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 1 PM at the Saint Malo Catholic Church.
