It is with heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Herman (Harry) Waldner in Steinbach, MB on October 6, 2023. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sarah, 3 children Sandra ( Richard ), Angela ( Mike ) and Jeff ( Larissa), 5 grandchildren, Sydney (Cameron), Danielle (Jordan ), Sean, Isabelle and Alex. 3 great grandchildren, Aidyn, Jameson and Dean.
Harry was born March 9th, 1944 in Newton Siding, MB where he remained until 1962 when he turned 18. Working for various farmers throughout southern Manitoba. He was introduced to Sarah at the age of 22, serenading Sarah with the song Beautiful Brown Eyes. They married in 1968 and lived together in the Ile Des Chenes area. In 1969 he started working for Versatile and for Niverville Feed and Seed which is now Puritone. Welcoming their child, Sandra, in 1970, Harry and his new family loved travelling. In 1976 they welcomed their second child Angela. While living in Niverville on 3rd Ave, they converted the garage into a freezer/cooler and started a small sausage business. Moving to the current location in 1977 working along side his bride, Waldner Meats was started. Harry loved to sing and play his guitar entertaining guests and family claiming that’s how he won over his bride. In 1981 they welcomed their third child, Jeff. Travelling, camping, playing guitar, hog roasts, snowmobiling and hunting were just a few things Harry loved. With so much life lived and so much accomplished being able to narrow down exactly what to voice is difficult.
He will be missed by all whose life he touched…
