Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved father Marcel J Chatel on Monday, December 4, 2023, at his residence in the Villa Youville Nursing Home in Ste Anne, MB, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his children: Diane Verrier, Ronald Chatel (Louise Paille), Janette Letkeman (Danny), Cheryl Tysoski (Brian), Alan Chatel (Michelle), his sister Denise Goertzen(Pete) and his brother Joe Chatel (Mavis Lempen) and sister-in-law Dolores Dunning.

He will also be sadly missed by :

Therese Dandeneau, Roselyne Sawka, Claude and Robert Verrier, Reynald and Ryan Chatel, Jocie Cyrenne, Richard Friesen and Sean Letkeman, Joey and Dave Levesque, Jennifer and Stephanie Tysoski, Tara Chatel and Rebecca Spellen.

His great-grandchildren:

Marissa and Jessica Martel, Daniel Danica and Deanne Dandeneau, Brady and Natasha Sawka, Justin, Janelle and Alex Verrier, Andrew, Gavin and Maxime Verrier, Layla and Blake Chatel, Emma and Josee Chatel, Layla and Blake Chatel, Avery, Abigail, Charlotte and Calvin Cyrenne , Dominick and Weronika Friesen, Desiree and Kiera Levesque, Sara Charriere, Sara, Tristan and Riley Levesque, Taylor Tysoski Brody and Brenna McDowell, Brinley and Brea Chabluk, Alex Chatel, Jack, Olivia and Rhett Spellen.

His great-great grandchildren:

Kingsley and Zayden Tippman, Taidon and Rylee Wilson, Oakleigh Dandeneau, Sebastian Levesque and Noah Charriere.

As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years Marie-Jeanne Vandal, his parents Albertine Levesque and Alexander Chatel, his daughter Gisele (Bobby), two brothers Clovis and Edward, three sisters Alexina Sherbish (Joe), Leona Warzee (Adrian) and Rachel Foldy (Ludwig) his parents-in-law Leontine and Arthur Vandal, his sisters-in-law Lea Chernetski, Norma Nowak and brothers-in-law Norris and Dollard Vandal.

The family would like to express our profound gratitude to the staff and personnel at both the Villa Youville assisted living as well as the staff at Villa Youville Nursing for the incredible care, they provided for dad.

Dad, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure for us to cherish!

A livestreamed celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 10:30 am. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, MB.
