In Loving Memory of Sandra Case
Sandra “Sandy Pants” Darlene Case, born on September 21, 1963, in Beausejour, MB, suddenly passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 60.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 28 years, Cam, and their four children and families: Kelsey and her husband Dan (Fynnli and Harlow), Brendon and his wife Brooke (Colton, Devyn, and Maverick), Courtnay and her partner Damian (Gavyn, Anistynn, Treyson, and Kellan), and Jordyn and her husband Kevin (Dawsyn and Paisley). Sandra is also warmly remembered by her sister Charlene and her husband Doug (Troy, Kayleigh, Levi, and Nash), brother Robert and his wife Keri (Corbin), mother-in-law Beth, sister-in-law Meighan and her husband Glenn (Kamryn and Grady), sister-in-law Karen, as well as numerous loyal friends, ‘adopted’ kids, and extended family members. Sandra was predeceased by her parents, Eva and Ernie Wilk.
Sandra’s early years were spent in Ladywood, MB, and Victoria, BC, before finding a lasting home in Transcona, MB. As a child, she cherished family trips to their farm in Ladywood, where three horses brought joy, and road trips created enduring memories.
In 1981, Sandra graduated from Murdock Mackay High School, later completing the Business Administration program at Red River College. Continuing her career until her final days, Sandra’s professional journey was marked by meaningful connections and treasured friendships.
A cherished Christmas tradition unfolded when Sandra, Charlene, and Robert gathered around the organ in the Transcona home to sing and play “Edelweiss” for Ernie and Eva. Sandra grew up playing guitar and the organ, and if you were lucky enough to witness it, she also played the accordion. She loved old country music, and absolutely loved listening to her brother Rob perform.
Her love for baseball, both as a player and coach, extended to cheering on her grown kids and grandkids during their games. More recently, Sandra enjoyed bowling alongside her sister Char, sharing anecdotes about league games. She was an avid fan of football, especially the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and shared seasons as ticket holders with her husband Cam.
Sandra’s home was a haven of warmth, filled with people and laughter. Known for her kindness and inclusivity, she impacted many lives by taking kids under her wing and into her home. Sandra valued relationships, dedicating time to weekly calls with family and friends. A ‘fun maker,’ she initiated dance parties and two-step or polka lessons, finding joy in the chaos of family gatherings.
Her love and pride for her family was evident to all who knew her. Sandra willingly assisted with her grandkids and loved to attend their activities. Serving as a supportive sounding board for her children, ‘the kids’ would call Mom everyday, sharing the latest news and seeking her parenting advice. Sandra was always quick to remind them that ‘kids will be kids’.
A celebration of life will be held at Crossings Funeral Care on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 2 pm, with the service streamed on Crossings Funeral Care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in honor of Sandra.
A.A. Milne words resonate: “If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever”. Sandra lived a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
‘GO BLUE!’
