Obituary

Peacefully at the St. Annes Villa Youville on Monday, January 8, 2024, Antoinette Bugera (Routhier) formerly of St. Leon, Manitoba passed away at the age of 83 years.

Antoinette was born on June 23, 1940, to Xavier Routhier and Alma (Hubert) Routhier. Antoinette was also known as Toni was born and raised on a farm near St. Leon, MB. She grew up with seven brothers and five sisters. Antoinette had a love for gardening, cooking, baking, and hosting family gatherings.

Antoinette Routhier married Robert Talbot on June 4, 1957.

She is survived by her six children: Jacqueline (Rob), Eugene (deceased) (Marietta), Carole, Armand (Lorraine), Daniel (Lianne), Janet (Marcel) and Patrick (Nicole); 17 grandchildren: Laurie, Jason (Alyssa), Tiffany (Ryan), Ryan, Aaron (Melisa), Christopher (Joy), Christine, Kirtus (Jessica), Sean (Amy), Matthew (Anaïs), Erica (Jesse), Mario (Megan), Kyle (Adelina), Vanessa (Cody), Celina (Colton), Colin (Deanna) and Kayla; and many great-grandchildren which mom cherished every visit she had with them. She also leaves to mourn one sister Laurette Brayer.

The livestreamed Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 2 P.M. at the St. Anne Roman Catholic Church, 162 Centrale Avenue, Ste. Anne, MB., with Father Kevin Nkengfua officiating. Lunch to follow mass.

A special heartfelt thank you to the wonderful and caring staff at Villa Youville nursing home for their exceptional compassionate care. Special thank you to nurse Andree and Doctor.

By the grace of God, gone but never forgotten.
To live in the hearts of those you love is not to die.
In tears we saw you sinking,
We watched you fade away.
You suffered much in silence,
You faced your task with courage.
Your spirit did not bend,
But still you kept on fighting,
Until the very end.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you,
And whispered “Come with me”
So when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain
We could not wish you back,
To suffer that again.
We love you Mom.
