Born on August 11, 1932, Hilda Kroeker was one of twelve children born to Henry and Susanna Wiebe in the municipality of Hanover, Manitoba. The relationships with her four sisters and seven brothers set the tone for what would be her legacy of love and commitment to family.
In September of 1959, Hilda married the love of her life, Cornelius Kroeker. Together they were blessed with three children, Kelly (Joy), Chad (Karla), and Sherri (Mark).
Hilda was a woman of quiet strength and deep faith. A creative at heart, she loved painting, sewing, crafting, and cooking for others. She modeled the values of hard work, determination and service. Nobody knew the depths of Hilda’s servant heart more than her children, four grandchildren, Jennifer (Caesar), Michael, Lucas, and Sylas, and her three great-grandchildren, Catalina, Olivia, and Arturo.
Woven through the tapestry of her life was the unending love she had for her life partner and best friend Cornelius. In September of 2024 they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Our hearts are broken as we grieve, and bigger for having been loved so well by Hilda.
A private celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 15, 2024 at Crossings Funeral Care.
