Obituary

On Friday, July 12, 2024, Gordon Arthur Reimer was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Gordon is survived by his children, Kristen (Ryan), Brett (Elenita), and his grandchildren Kai, Lillian, Maddison, and Noah. Gordon also leaves behind his sister Raymonde (David) and their children and grandchildren, as well as his beloved grandpuppy, Teddy.

Gordon was predeceased by his wife Irene and his parents Isabel and Arthur Reimer.

Dad was an overwhelmingly cheerful, friendly and hard-working man. He loved people and interacting with others, which perfectly suited his career as a social worker for over 35 years. Gordon had a passion for helping others and invested a lot of time and energy into serving his clients and their families to the best of his abilities.

Dad loved his family, enjoying the time spent around the table, and took great joy in working on the yard and being with animals and in nature. There was many a laugh through the years, and Dad was a solid example of an amazing work ethic and having a compassionate soul.

When Mom got sick, Dad was a solid support, being attentive and taking excellent care of her until her passing.

Dad really enjoyed becoming a grandpa and took great pride in interacting with his beautiful grandchildren and watching them grow.

Dementia clouded a lot of things for Dad over the last few years, but nothing could dampen the twinkle in his eye and the sly smile that would appear as he would greet and tease the people that came across his path each day.

Our family wishes to express our sincerest gratitude for the excellent care that “Gordie” received during his time at the Riverview Health Centre. We are so appreciative that our “Pops” was in the loving hands of a deeply personal and professional staff that went out of their way to attend to Dad’s needs and to keep him comfortable right until his last breath.

Now, Dad, you are in Glory, in eternal peace, reunited with Mom and our loved ones that have gone before you. Rest easy knowing your legacy lives on in your children and grandchildren. We will miss you.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre PCH to help continue their excellent care.

A private family service will be held.
