Peacefully with his beloved wife by his side, Brad went to heaven at Bethesda Regional Health Centre on September 24, 2024, at the age of 68. Unfortunately, his brave and courageous battle with cancer finally took him way too early.
Brad especially loved his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his soulmate and wife; Darlene, special Stepson;, Donovan “boy” (Amanda), loved being “Pa” to his precious grandson, Mason Jacob, a mom he loved so much, Claire (Don), brothers; Greg (Suzanne), Perry (Sharlene) and special nieces; Amanda (Dan), Madison (Brian) and Cassie (Max), Many in-laws; Gladys, Vernon & Betty, Lorne, John & Katie, Ervin & Erika, Leroy & Lois, and special golfing “buddy ” Jean.
Brad was predeceased by his dad, Gordon Halpenny.
Brad was born on November 2, 1955, in Sudbury Ontario to Gord and Claire Halpenny. He greatly enjoyed people which made him a born salesman and he travelled the Prairies for 30 years as Sales Manager for Canada Packers. He retired but he loved to keep busy, and he continued to work part-time in sales in the lumber business. Brad loved sports, especially hockey but as everyone knows, his favorite pastime was golfing. He could never get enough. There will be many golf games in heaven, I’m sure. But the most beloved thing about Brad was his quick wit and goofy sense of humour, whether it was playing a practical joke, story telling or just cheering people up, he made a lasting impression with family, friends and even complete strangers.
The family would like to extend their sincere thank-you to the staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre for their kindness and compassionate care. They treated him like a beloved family member. We will be forever grateful for that.
Rest in Peace my beloved funny husband. I love you so much.
