It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Fulmore, age 71, after complications following surgery at the Health Science Centre, Winnipeg, MB., on Thursday, December 5, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Brian was born April 5, 1953, and was raised in Lorette, Manitoba. He was the eldest of six children and the only son of John (Jack) & Anita Fulmore. In 1967, the family moved to The Pas and it was here that he met the love of his life Linda. In 1971 they were married and started their family and in 1972 they moved back to Lorette, MB., where they raised their four children. Brian started off with a few jobs but finally stayed on at Griffin Steel for over 30 years before retiring in 2010. Brian had a wonderful sense of humour and always made everyone laugh with his quick wit. He had the need of very little and loved his family above everything. The joy he received from each and every child was unexplainable starting with his children, then grandchildren, and now with his great-grandchildren. Family was very important to him, but was a man of very few words, and although he might not have said I love you often it was always implied. Brian ‘s favourite pastime was golfing and soon after Linda joined the game also, he was able to accomplish two holes in ones and his goal was to golf every course in Manitoba and they were only a few he didn’t get to. He enjoyed his many friends, travelling around doing multiple courses and we always had to switch partners to see who won. Once retired Brian and Linda made a move to Paradise Village where they resided until 2021. They met many new friends here and he always loved walking so he would walk the dogs when friends were unable to.
Brian is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda, daughters: Donna, Corrie (Trevor), Kim (Don), and son Brent (Nancy), grandchildren Tegan (Tyson) Dakota, Chaz, Kaymin, Brayden, Brittany (Kyle) Tristan, Madelyne and Kaitlyn, great-grandchildren Carter, Riley, Sawyer and Rowan. Sisters Pat (Bruce), Brenda (Bernie), Audrey and Barb (Peter), brothers-in-law Bill, Wayne (Cindy), Byron (Sherry), Garth (Heidi), sisters-in-law Jean, Ruth, Gail, Bev, Arlene, and many nieces and nephews.
Brian was predeceased by his parents Jack & Anita and sister Linda, his in-laws, Alvin & Hazel and brothers-in-law Dennis, Kelly and Robert (Bob).
As per Brian‘s wishes there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
