It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Charles Ritz, December 19th, 2024 at the Niverville Heritage Life Personal Care home.
Robert, better known as Bob leaves to mourn his sister Cora Doerksen (Daryl), his nieces and nephew, Jackie (Norm), Warren (Brigitte), Connie (Hank), Debbie (Trevor), Kerry (Chris), Patti (Nathan) and Kendra (Doyle). And many great nieces and nephews as well as many great great nieces and nephews. Also, survived by his aunt Hedi Mazinke, numerous cousins and many friends.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Charles Robert Ritz and Dorothea Else Ritz (Nee Kletke) and by his brother-in-law Daryl Robert Doerksen.
Bob grew up in the rural community of Sewell, Manitoba with his older sister Cora. Growing up on the farm from an early age he was quick to learn the ropes. Working alongside his father, he learned to enjoy life on the farm. Bob never married, but was devoted to his love for farming. Eventually he came to run the farm with his late brother-in-law Daryl Doerksen and nephew Warren Doerksen. With many great nieces and nephews visiting the farm for tractor rides, he was sure to always have his favourite snacks on hand like drumsticks and always a pocket full of jellybeans.
Bob later moved to his cabin in Buffalo Point, Manitoba where he enjoyed the many friendships he had developed through the years with his neighbours and longtime friends.
The family would like to thank all staff at the Niverville Heritage Life Personal Care Home as they took care of Bob in his time of need. Their ongoing care and kindness has not gone unnoticed. Bob was very comfortable and happy in Niverville.
Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place at a later date.
