Daniel Loewen, age 88 of Landmark, MB., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, January 10th, 2025, at Rest Haven Care Home, Steinbach, MB.
He is survived by his beloved wife Jean and his nine children, three daughters, six sons, two sisters, 18 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
Dan Loewen is survived by his six children from his marriage to Mavis (née Podjan). Dale Loewen (Armelle), Kim Chaudouet, Curtis Loewen (Alyson), Darcy Loewen (Rhonda), Tami Joyal (Rick), Tannis Ewanchuk (Ken), three stepsons Leon Hanlan (Krista), Chad Hanlan and Brent Hanlan (Leanne).
Grandchildren: Angela Wery (Scott), Ashley Dickson (Baruch), Dustin Loewen (Ardice), Kayla Wiebe (Ivo), Jordyn Chaudouet, Dominyk Loewen, Drayton Loewen, Auzzie Loewen, Jana Loewen, Alex Joyal (Anna), Taylor Joyal, Natalia Ewanchuk, Nicholas Ewanchuk, Dylan Hanlan, Hunter Hanlan, Avery Hanlan, and Beau Hanlan.
Growing up Dan was a proud football player for the Landmark Flying Dutchman.
He is predeceased by his parents, Peter F. Loewen & Catherine (née Fast), seven sisters and three brothers, five brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and one grandson.
Dan operated a ranch in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan for ten years. Much of his life he was a long-distance truck driver. In his later years he enjoyed gardening with his wife Jean. Dan was often seen walking to the local restaurant in Landmark to meet his friends for coffee.
A funeral service for Dan will be held on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. Interment to follow at Prairie Rose EMC Church, 27093 Hwy 210, Landmark, MB.
