Wilma Jean Sault (nee Christiansen), age 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Vita Personal Care Home.
Wilma was born in Winnipeg on April 2, 1937, to Stanley & Florence Christiansen. She was the oldest of three children. She spent her childhood with her mother and brothers, John and Murray, in Winnipeg and other small communities in Southern Manitoba where her mother taught school.
In 1960, she married Leonard Sault, settled in Winnipeg and later welcomed their only child, Richard. She worked as a legal secretary for Joseph Parker and Abe Yanofsky for many years before retiring in 1996. Upon retirement, she and Leonard moved to the Sault family farm in Zhoda. They spent their retirement enjoying country life, gardening, hobby farming and caring for their yard. With the arrival of their granddaughter, Kirsten, they looked forward to her visits to the farm and taking her on day adventures. Leonard passed away in 2015, and at that time she moved from the farm to Steinbach with her brother Murray where she resided until her health failed and she moved to the Vita Personal Care Home.
Wilma is survived by her son Richard (Tracey), granddaughter Kirsten (Corey), brother John (Barbara), sisters-in-law Ruth and Edna as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Leonard, mother Florence, brother Murray, sister-in-law Pat (John) and her brothers-in-law Bob Sault and John Andres.
In accordance with Wilma’s wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date.
