It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Frances Elizabeth Rempel, who left this world peacefully on Monday, March 10th, 2025, at the age of 95.
Born on April 12th, 1929, in Vassar, MB., Mom lived a life filled with love and purpose. She dedicated herself to her family with a quiet grace, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether she was preparing a meal for her loved ones, lending a listening ear, or offering a reassuring hug, Mom had a way of making you feel safe and loved. Mom came from a large family of 12 children, a house surely full of love and laughter. She cherished each one of her siblings dearly and enjoyed getting together with them often. Mom met our dad, and they were married September 6th, 1947 and started their life together in Moody, MB. Although times were tough they managed to create a full life together. They started their family shortly after, Eleanor being the first born, followed by Brenda, Vance and Ruby. Their final home together was in Steinbach, MB., on Willow Crescent. Mom was most known for her long employment at Stylerite for 28 years where she made many friends and last impressions on customers. After retiring mom still had lots of smiles and love to share so she devoted time volunteering wherever she could make a difference.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Eleanor, Brenda (Ted), Vance, and Ruby (Paul); her grandchildren, Jennifer, Angela (Julian), Bob (Andrea), Bryan (Trica), Jason, Mellisa (Allan), Brittany, Madison (Jason), and Milo (former name Taylor) (Jay); her great-grandchildren of 15; her Sisters Lorraine, Gail (Rich), in-law Joyce and Judy; and all those whose lives were made better by her gentle touch and compassionate heart.
Predeceased by: Her beloved husband, Elmer (1988); her parents, Albert and Alma Cayer; (her son Larry and daughter Linda in infancy); her brothers, Raymond, David, Richard, and Laurence “Cub”; her sisters, Grace, Aurore “Babe”, Gert, and (Eleanor in infancy); and her great-grandson, Gavin; her in-laws, Jack and Vera Rempel.
Though we are heartbroken to say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that she is now with our dad and beloved siblings.
Thank you as well to the Vita Care home for the compassion and support they have shown to us during this time, and to Birchwood Funeral Chapel for their unwavering support.
Rest peacefully, Mom. Your love will always guide us.
The livestreamed funeral service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing one hour prior to the service.
The interment will take place at Memorial Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
